David Crothers
David Crothers practices principally in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, mortgage financing, and mortgage remedy and enforcement matters. Mr. Crothers has overseen the successful completion of several thousand real estate and financing transactions. He brings to the firm a demonstrated ability to successfully resolve title, contractual, and other transactional issues, having a depth of experience which few practitioners can claim. Mr. Crothers represents several private mortgage lenders respecting the enforcement of their mortgage security, including powers of sale, actions for possession and payment, and foreclosure matters. Mr. Crothers provides advice on conveyancing and other contractual matters pertaining to real estate issues for the estate and wealth management department of a chartered bank.
Mr. Crothers has instructed the debtor/creditor course and guest lectured on mortgage remedy and enforcement matters to prospective mortgage brokers as part of the Financial Services Underwriting program at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology. Mr. Crothers is also an occasional contributor to “New Dream Homes” magazine, where he provides commentary on various topics related to the purchase and sale of real property and mortgage financing.
Mr. Crothers earned his LL.B. from the University of Windsor in 1992 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1994. He obtained his B.A. (Honours) from York University.
